ABOUT SMIC
Assalam-o-Alikum,
South Metro Islamic Center (SMIC) is a vision brought to light to serve the needs and dreams of Muslim Families in Eagan, Apple Valley, Rosemount, Lakeville, Farmington, and surrounding communities. SMIC is a joint project of MAS MN and MET Council. The vision of SMIC is to provide a place of worship for Muslim community and gathering place for our families and youth.
We pray to Allah that this place will be multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, non-sectarian, diverse and open community committed to equal participation of men, women, and children.

Our Philosophy
Most of us have the privilege to be raised in a Muslim country. We learned religion through our culture. Our youth being raised in Minnesota need a place to cultivate Muslim identity and develop a sense of belonging. Muslim families need a place not only to worship but also gather to celebrate events.

The current location was home to a bowling alley. It is about 22,345 sq.ft. SMIC is converting this place to host
